I am Jon Benaglio, the proud owner of Florida Sports Insurance. I've been a financial professional for over two decades. During this time, I have acquired a diverse range of licenses, including Series 7 as a registered representative, and license's in Health, Life, Annuity, and Property and Casualty insurance. While I've ventured into various entrepreneurial pursuits over the years, Florida Sports Insurance holds a special place in my heart.
My journey has been marked by educating families and individuals about the invaluable benefits of sports accident insurance. I have also shared my personal experience, demonstrating how this coverage has safeguarded my own family's financial well-being. Beyond that, I derive immense satisfaction from helping people navigate the intricacies of life insurance strategies, offering them peace of mind in the face of unexpected tragedies. It's worth noting that life insurance costs have never been more affordable than they are today. It's crucial not to leave yourself or your loved ones vulnerable without proper life insurance coverage. How often have we seen GoFundMe campaigns on social media, lamenting the lack of life insurance? The reality is, it's more affordable than you might imagine.
In the aforementioned example, I recounted a personal anecdote about how sports accident insurance came to the rescue for my family. I have additional stories demonstrating how this coverage has prevented financial disasters, which I'd be happy to share upon request. As the parent of a dirt bike enthusiast, I'm well aware of the risks associated with such activities. Many of our friends regularly share stories online about their children sustaining injuries in sports, including dirt biking.
On September 18th, 2022, we were at Gatorback for the Diamondback Gold Cup, where my son encountered an accident during open practice sessions. While attempting a jump, he hit a rut on the landing, causing him to lose control and crash. The vigilant track crew promptly attended to him and transported him to the medical personnel onsite, who determined that he needed immediate transfer to the UF emergency room.
At the UF ER, the usual battery of tests, including CT scans, x-rays, and bloodwork, were conducted. The diagnosis revealed a lacerated spleen, along with some minor injuries. Jon was subsequently admitted to the hospital for a two-day stay to receive the necessary care. Upon our discharge, I proactively requested our medical records, knowing that I would need them when filing a claim with our sports accident plan. The claims department meticulously reviewed the medical records to ascertain the appropriate compensation, considering a list of injuries and corresponding payment categories. I'd be delighted to walk you through this process when you're ready to secure a plan.
My son has endured numerous injuries while pursuing his passion for dirt biking, including cuts from foot pegs, collarbone fractures, broken bones, lacerations, sprains, concussions, and more. For each of these incidents, our insurance plan has come through, providing compensation for the treatment received.
For the Gold Cup incident, the compensation was determined based on the extent of Jon's injuries, ER visit, diagnostics, hospital admission, daily hospital stay, and follow-up care. A direct deposit of $3,728 was made into my account. I wisely utilized this money to offset medical deductibles, cover some expenses, and purchase necessary dirt bike parts. The flexibility to use the funds as needed is a significant advantage.
I've availed of this plan numerous times over the years for a variety of sports-related injuries my son has experienced. It's important to note that the coverage extends beyond sports accidents to encompass any accident or injury, whether it occurs at home, during a car accident, or elsewhere. If you average just one injury per year, the plan more than pays for itself. Additionally, for minor children, parental coverage is automatically included in the same cost. In my case, since my son is still a minor, both of us are covered for the same affordable rate. This coverage applies whether I'm at work or not. Moreover, the cost is remarkably reasonable given the extensive benefits it offers—I personally pay just $10 per week for coverage for both my son and myself. If you have multiple children, rest assured that they are all covered at no additional expense. Adult only coverage is around $6 per week. Once you obtain coverage, your plan cost does not increase annually!
Whether you or your child has encountered accidents or injuries in the past, or you simply want to prepare for any unforeseen events, this type of insurance coverage can be a game-changer. I established Florida Sports Insurance because it has made a profound difference in my family's life and in the lives of many others during their darkest hours. Each year, I have the privilege of assisting hundreds of individuals and families in obtaining this invaluable coverage, and I would be honored to do the same for you.
